That's what Nick Jonas, seated at a piano onstage at Detroit's Fox Theatre, told his fans -the kind of streaming throng, made up mostly or teen and tween females, that he has become used to with the Jonas Brothers - that he has in mind for 2010. The 17-year-old Jonas, the youngest brother of the pop trio, is still in the group. But he has started a new venture, even an adventure, which feels more like his future than anything he may be doing alongside his brothers.

Last year Jonas farmed his own band, the Administration, which recorded its first album, Who I Am, in April 2009 for release in February. The group, which features Jonas Brothers producer John Fields on bass and three members of Prince's New Power Generation band, debuted on Dec 2 during the Grammy Nominations Concert broadcast - introduced by brothers Kevin and Joe Jonas - and also toured ahead of Who I Am's release to generate some buzz for that album. Although, from the instant sellouts and the aforementioned screaming fans, you'd hardly think it needed the help.

"It's an incredible thing." Jonas says during a telephone interview. "I was writing these songs that I didn't think were necessarily right far the Jonas Brothers sound. So, after talking to my brothers about the possibility of doing a side project and seeing that they were so supportive, I talked to (John Fields). He was really excited about it and he said that we should make it a band with guys who have been around a long time. "So all that happened,'' he says. “We went to Nashville and we made this record in about eight days, and we came out with something we were really proud of.”

Jonas' more seasoned band mates feel the same way, even if it’s his name out in front of the project. "He's got it, man,” says guitarist Sonny Thompson, who was brought into the Administration by drummer and fellow Prince Sideman Michael Bland, in a separate interview. “I think he's it for his generation. He has something special. He's passionate and he's very serious about what he's doing. He's a young genius, really. I just see the growth potential for a new sound coming out of him."
