Being an avid steak lover for years who reside in the Chicago area, I am in constant search for the best steakhouse to satisfy my gustatory cravings for the perfect steak. And talking about an excellent Chicago private dining would not only encompass the menu, but also the general ambiance of the place. Best steak plus a charming ambiance would definitely spell just fabulous for me! Talking about steak houses, the varied and distinctive feel of every restaurant could prove to be more of an adventure. After all, the ambiance of a particular Steak houses is a reflection of the management’s preference, the chef’s expertise, and the hospitable sensibility of the staff. By raiding almost all of the steak restaurants in Chicago, I could say that each and everyone is unique in its own right. There are of course a few that stands out and make a lasting impression.
I could still remember the first time I walked into Keefer’ Restaurant, a joint that positively adds more distinction to Kinzie Street Illinois. In contrast to the traditional oak interiors and mahogany panels of most steak establishments, the modern and sophisticatedly arranged features of Keefer’s with all those chic glass windows and steel , are a brilliant compliment to its fine American cuisine. Other steakhouses would retain the conventional hypermaculine atmosphere with country-style decors and wood accents mouthing the word COWBOY not to mention tasty steaks prepared in heaping portions.
Aside from my savory piece of beef, I am also partial to the mouthwatering appetizers, side-dishes and desserts that the steakhouse has to offer. I am partially cognizant to a certain wild mushroom terrine I have tasted on one of the fine dining steak restaurants, carefully fried calamari and a sinful Boston crème pie served at a particular oaky beef house. It is also noteworthy to mention that the finer dining steak restaurants have an array of seafood menus that could easily beat any Chicago seafood restaurant.
Last but not the least is the extensive and well selected wine lists to wrap up that exquisitely sensuous steak experience. If you are tired with the usual Pinot Noir that goes wonderfully with your steak, consulting with a Sommelier would be the smarter option if not sure about your wine pairing. After all, I heard someone say that matching wine with food is more of an art. Ruining the delectable taste of your steak with the wrong vintage is undeniably a tragedy.
